Evaluation of Entrepreneur Startup Program Chronicles Real Impact in Michigan’s Economic Future

Global Detroit released a new impact evaluation of its Global Entrepreneur-in-Residence (Global EIR) program to place foreign-born startup founders at universities to teach and mentor while launching and growing their startup companies. The evaluation documents that Global Detroit has supported twelve immigrant founders from eleven companies who have created 174 jobs and attracted $28.1 million in venture capital investment since entering the program.

Global Detroit and Lawrence Tech Launch Startup Program for International Founders

Lawrence Technological University (Lawrence Tech, LTU) becomes the fifth Michigan university to join Global Detroit’s Global Entrepreneur in Residence (GEIR) program, which helps immigrant and international entrepreneurs launch high-growth startup companies in Michigan. LTU is on a growing list of partner universities with a Global EIR program, including Michigan Tech, Wayne State University, and College for Creative Studies.
